Living Like a Rockstar on Virgin Voyages: What It’s Really Like
Alright friends, if you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to live that Rockstar life on Virgin Voyages, I’m about to tell you everything. I’ve done it. I’ve stayed in the suites. I’ve had the roadie. I’ve popped the champagne. And I can tell you right now — once you go Rockstar, it is hard to go back.
This is not just a bigger room. It is a whole vibe. You are treated differently. You board differently. You get perks you didn’t even know you needed. And the experience feels elevated from the minute you arrive until the second you get off the ship. So let’s break it down.
What Is Rockstar Status
Rockstar is Virgin’s suite category and it’s broken into two levels. You’ve got Rockstar and then you’ve got Mega Rockstar. Both are amazing. Both come with some serious perks. But Mega takes it up another level.
Rockstar suites start with the Seriously Suite and go up from there. You still get early boarding, Richard’s Rooftop access, priority reservations, and a Rockstar agent. You also get an in-room bar setup, premium Wi-Fi, and a few other goodies.
Mega Rockstar is where things get wild. These are the top-tier suites and they come with everything. You get a roadie, which is basically your cruise bestie who makes magic happen. You get bottomless in-room bar, daily bar tab, spa access, early boarding, priority everything, premium internet, and free parking or transport. It’s next level.
Getting Onboard as a Rockstar
When you arrive at the terminal, you don’t wait in the same line as everyone else. You go to the Rockstar check-in. It is fast. They hand you your bracelet, check your passport, and within minutes they are walking you onto the ship.
I am not joking. You do not sit around. You do not wait. You are on the ship. Your roadie meets you at the door and walks you straight to your suite. And when you open that door, there is alcohol already waiting. Your bar is stocked. Champagne is chilled. Your vacation starts right now.
What the Roadie Does
The roadie is one of my favorite parts of being Mega Rockstar. They are not stuffy like a butler. They are fun, relaxed, and so helpful. They can unpack your bags, iron your clothes, book your dinner, reserve your spa, bring you snacks, set up your karaoke night, and somehow they just magically appear when you need them.
I had one that brought me extra pillows because I sleep with five. I didn’t even ask. She just noticed and made it happen. I’ve had roadies bring me extra desserts. I’ve had one walk me to brunch with my mimosa already poured. I mean, come on.
Richard’s Rooftop
This is the private lounge area for Rockstars only and it is stunning. Picture white lounge beds, hanging chairs, a private bar, snacks during the day, and chilled towels. It is calm, relaxing, and the perfect place to watch sail away with a cocktail in hand.
There is also a hot tub and umbrellas for shade. And during Scarlet Night they bring up red lights and music and the whole vibe shifts. It becomes the pre-party spot and I love it. If you’re not a fan of crowds, this is where you want to be.
In-Room Experience
These rooms are gorgeous. Whether you’re in the Seriously Suite or the Massive Suite, you’ll get the same Virgin attention to detail. The mood lighting. The record player. The curated playlist. The huge beds. The bathrooms are larger, the showers are amazing, and you get upgraded bath products.
The bar setup is beautiful and in Mega Rockstar it gets replenished daily. We’re talking full bottles. Your choice of mixers. And yes, you can request what you want. I always ask for champagne, vodka, and tequila — you already know.
There’s also a hammock or lounge seating on your terrace and it just feels private and peaceful. You can actually relax out there without hearing pool party noise.
Suite Types I Love
Seriously Suite
This is the lead-in suite and it is such a good one. Midship on Deck 12. Big windows. Spacious. Perfect for couples or solo travelers who want the perks but not the big layout.
Gorgeous Suite
My absolute favorite. I love the layout. Not too big. Not too small. You get a shower on the terrace, which is always fun. The design is sleek and it just feels like home.
Fab Suite
We stayed here for Girls Gone Cruisin’ and it was wild. The terrace is massive. There are two bathrooms. We fit a whole party of women in there and it still didn’t feel crowded.
Massive Suite
This is the dream. You have stairs built into the table for dancing. There’s a hot tub on the terrace. A full sound system. A telescope. You are living your best life here and you know it.
Perks You Didn’t Know You Needed
Rockstar guests get priority boarding for shows and restaurants. You get first pick when reservations open. You can skip lines. You get access to the spa thermal suite every day if you’re Mega. You can call your Rockstar agent anytime for anything.
Want to dine at The Wake last minute? Done. Need a massage booked before dinner? Easy. Want a bottle of wine delivered to your room before Scarlet Night? Already handled.
Final Thoughts
Living like a Rockstar on Virgin Voyages is not just about having a bigger room. It is the whole experience. From the second you arrive to the moment you walk off that ship, you are treated like VIP. And if you’re celebrating something or just want to feel a little extra, this is 100 percent worth it.
I’ve done it. I’ll keep doing it. And once you’ve lived that Rockstar life, you’ll understand why my clients keep coming back for more.
