What’s New on Virgin Voyages’ Brilliant Lady

Published On: August 24, 2025Categories: Cruises

If you have been following Talk Virgin to Me, you know how excited we are to finally sail on Virgin Voyages’ Brilliant Lady! She is the newest ship in the Virgin Voyages fleet and she brings fresh updates that set her apart from Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, and Resilient Lady.

We were among the first to step onboard Brilliant Lady and we are sailing her inaugural transatlantic. Here is your inside scoop on what’s new on Brilliant Lady and what to expect when you book.

Deck 7 has a whole new vibe

On the other Lady ships you are used to seeing the big red Shore Things desk. On Brilliant Lady, that desk is gone. In its place is a warm, living room style lounge where you can relax, sip, read, eat, or even work.

The colors feel softer. The seating invites you to linger. It is a real upgrade and it gives the heart of the ship a cozy personality!

Slightly Smaller Sea Terraces with double hammocks

A brand new cabin category on Brilliant Lady is the Slightly Smaller Sea Terrace on Deck 8. The lifeboats sit closer to the ship, which makes the balcony tighter. On paper the balcony drops from about forty square feet to around eleven. In person it does not feel as tiny as it sounds. The room size stays the same. Only the balcony changes.

Here is the fun part. These are the only Virgin Voyages cabins with two hammocks. No sharing. No taking turns. You can both stretch out and relax at the same time.

The view is slightly obstructed since you cannot look straight down. You can still see the sea and the horizon. Many sailors choose this category for the savings plus the double hammocks. It often prices a few hundred dollars less than a standard Sea Terrace.

Deck 16 now faces the sea

Up on Deck 16 the daybeds used to face inward. Now the beds face outward to the ocean and the solid wall is replaced with glass. The whole space feels brighter and more open.

It is perfect for sea days and for scenic sailings like Alaska. Virgin also added shaded groupings of beds, which makes it easier to relax comfortably in the sun.

Dining updates you will notice

The Dock

Menu tweaks add options like monkfish, an updated chicken, and a quinoa dish we loved. The very low chairs are gone. The new woven seating is much easier to enjoy.

Rojo

This is the standout change. Rojo replaces Razzle Dazzle and swaps the bold stripes for warm rust tones, two top tables, and a spacious bar. It feels like a true restaurant, not a pass through space.

The food is a win. The ribs are tender and rich. The pimento cheese is dreamy. The churros and the cheesecake make a perfect finish. Rojo is going to be a favorite on Brilliant Lady!

Why Brilliant Lady feels different

Overall, Brilliant Lady feels warmer and more intentional than her sisters. Common areas invite you to stay a while. The new balcony category adds value and comfort with those double hammocks. Dining gets a glow up with Rojo leading the way.

Virgin Voyages has always done things differently. Brilliant Lady takes that spirit and makes it feel even more personal.
